Motorcoder

Sacle-less 1um absolute position linear encoder

This is an absolute linear encoder that uses a permanent magnets track of a linear motor in place of a traditional scale. Compatible with Mitsubishi and Panasonic servo systems, it offers a resolution of less than 1μm, supports speeds exceeding 3m/sec, and achieves a repeatability of 10μm. This is an absolute linear encoder, so no initial pole detection or homing operation is required.

Easy assembly and long stroke optimization

  • Distance between magnet and motor coder is 10mm or more

  • Easy to assemble, no surface machining for a scale

  • Best for long stroke (body connection)

  • LM guide, roller bearing applicable

High environmental resistance

Resistant to dust and water

  • No scale damage due to shock or vibration.

  • Position sensing by mounting the encoder head directly on the coil unit without a linear scale

  • Detection of variation in magnetic flux density of the linear motor's permanent magnets using Hall sensors

  • Generation of sub-micron (1 μm-level) position data through high-resolution interpolation

  • Absolute position sensing using a battery during power outages.

  • Low-power Hall sensors enable absolute position sensing, ensuring a battery life of 5–10 years or more.

  • Upon main power restoration, combines high-resolution position data with power outage data to transmit high-precision absolute position.
